Create a TikTok post

A TikTok post is a short-form vertical video published on the brand's TikTok account. TikTok is video-only — there's no static-image format — and the chat is tuned to that constraint from the first turn.

For Meta posts (Facebook / Instagram), see Create a Meta post. For LinkedIn, see Create a LinkedIn Page post and Create a LinkedIn Profile post.

Connecting

A TikTok post needs the TikTok connector connected to a TikTok Business account (personal TikTok accounts aren't supported by the TikTok API). One workspace admin connects it once; every member with publish rights can then create TikTok posts.

Creating a TikTok post

From Create + → Social Media → TikTok. The brief, generation, and chat flow are the same as any campaign. TikTok-specific bits:

  • Video format — the only accepted media. Glowtify generates the storyboard, the chat refines pacing, scenes, transitions
  • Caption editor with a 2 200-character counter (TikTok's hard limit)
  • Hashtag suggestions based on the brand's Business DNA, the post's topic, and any relevant trending challenges
  • Sound — TikTok prioritizes videos with audio in the feed. Glowtify reminds inline if a video has no audio track
  • Duet / stitch permissions set at publish time

Format specifics

TikTok enforces these constraints (Glowtify surfaces them inline):

  • Video only — no static image posts; carousels aren't supported on the API
  • Duration — 3 seconds to 10 minutes (account eligibility for longer videos varies by region and follower count)
  • Aspect ratio — 9:16 vertical strongly preferred. 1:1 and 16:9 supported but underperform
  • Caption — up to 2 200 characters
  • Sound required — silent videos underperform drastically

Publishing

TikTok uses soft scheduling. Glowtify stores the video and pushes it to TikTok at the scheduled time. See Smart Scheduling for the mechanic.

Publication is gated by TikTok's API rate limits — heavy days may see a small queue delay (usually under a minute).

Common issues

"Video format rejected"

TikTok rejects certain encodings. Convert to MP4 (H.264 + AAC), 9:16 aspect, under 287 MB. Glowtify's regeneration takes care of this when re-asking from the chat.

Caption too long

TikTok enforces 2 200 characters. Shorten in the editor — the counter flips red as the limit approaches.

Hashtag suggestions are pulled at generation time. If a trend just broke and the chat hasn't picked it up, add it manually in the caption.

The video has no audio track. TikTok feed downranks silent videos. Add background music or voiceover via the chat: "Add a mood-matching music bed".
