Create a LinkedIn Page post
A LinkedIn Page Post is a post that publishes from your company's LinkedIn Company Page (the org-level surface). It's the kind of post most companies use for product updates, announcements, hiring posts, and corporate news.
This article is about LinkedIn Page posts (org-level). For posts that publish from your personal LinkedIn profile (the human-facing surface), see Create a LinkedIn Profile post β it's a separate task type with a very different mechanic.
Page vs Profile β which one to useβ
| LinkedIn Page Post | LinkedIn Profile Post | |
|---|---|---|
| Publishes from | Your Company Page | A member's personal profile |
| Tone expected | Branded, corporate voice | Real human voice |
| Connector | LinkedIn β one shared per workspace | LinkedIn Profile β per-user |
| Who can publish | Any workspace admin with the connector | Only the profile owner |
| Reach | Lower organic reach | 3β5Γ higher organic reach typically |
| Best for | Product updates, hiring posts, milestones | Thought leadership, personal POV, behind-the-scenes |
Both can coexist on the same campaign β many teams ship a company-page post AND a personal-profile take on the same news.
Connectingβ
A LinkedIn Page Post needs the LinkedIn (Company Page) connector connected. One workspace admin connects it once, and every member with publish rights in the workspace can use it.
If multiple organizations were enabled under one connection (e.g. you admin two brands), each shows up as a separate target in the publish dialog.
Creating a LinkedIn Page postβ
From Create + β Social Media β LinkedIn Page Post. The brief, generation, and chat flow are the same as any Epic. LinkedIn-specific bits:
- Target organization picker β if multiple Company Pages are connected, pick which one publishes
- Caption editor with a 3 000-character counter (LinkedIn's hard limit)
- Hashtag suggestions based on your Business DNA and the post's topic
- Link preview β first URL in the caption is automatically promoted to a rich card preview
- Preview panel rendered as it will look on LinkedIn β Company Page identity, branded color treatment
Brand voice (not personal voice)β
LinkedIn Page posts use your company's brand voice as defined in your Brand DNA. The AI uses:
- Your Business DNA description, tone, and positioning
- The brand vocabulary you've added in onboarding
- Your past Page posts (if Glowtify has published a few)
This is the opposite of LinkedIn Profile posts, which use the member's personal writing style. Don't confuse the two β a Page post written in a personal voice often reads inauthentic.
Format specificsβ
LinkedIn enforces these limits (Glowtify surfaces them inline):
- Caption β up to 3 000 characters
- Images β JPG, PNG; up to 9 per post (multi-image carousel)
- Videos β MP4, up to ~15 minutes and ~5 GB
- Articles (long-form) β supported via Glowtify's blog editor, not the social-post editor
Publishingβ
LinkedIn uses soft scheduling. Glowtify stores the post and publishes it via LinkedIn's API at the scheduled time. See Smart Scheduling for the full mechanic.
Anyone with publish permission in the workspace can publish a LinkedIn Page Post β unlike Profile posts where only the profile owner can publish to their own profile.
Promoting as an adβ
LinkedIn Page Posts can be sponsored through LinkedIn Campaign Manager, but Glowtify doesn't currently expose a one-click "boost" for LinkedIn the way it does for Meta. To sponsor a Page Post:
- Publish it organically via Glowtify
- Open LinkedIn Campaign Manager
- Create a Sponsored Content campaign that uses the existing post
See Create an ad for paid LinkedIn campaigns built natively in Glowtify (these run as separate ad creatives, not as boosts of existing posts).
Common issuesβ
"Publication failed β not authorized for this organization"β
Your LinkedIn admin rights on the org have been revoked, or the org has restricted third-party posting. Check your role on LinkedIn (you need admin, content admin, or super admin) and have the workspace admin re-authorize the connector if needed.
"Caption too long"β
LinkedIn enforces 3 000 characters hard. Shorten in the editor β the character counter will flip red as you approach the limit. For long-form content, use Glowtify's blog editor instead.
"Media format not supported"β
LinkedIn rejects certain file types. Convert to JPG, PNG, or MP4 before retrying.
My post is showing on the wrong organizationβ
If you have multiple Company Pages connected, the target organization picker at the top of the editor decides which one publishes. Re-check it before scheduling.
I want to post on my personal LinkedIn insteadβ
That's a different task type. See Create a LinkedIn Profile post.
