Shopify articles
The Shopify connector does double duty: it's a data source for products, orders, and customers, and it's a publication channel for blog articles on your Shopify-hosted blog. This page covers the blog publishing side.
If you're just using Shopify for data (analytics, product catalog), you don't need to do anything special β the blog publishing capability sits inside the same connector.
Prerequisitesβ
- The Shopify connector already set up (see Shopify data connector)
- At least one blog configured in your Shopify admin (Shopify β Online Store β Blog posts β Manage blogs)
- Writer or admin access to the Shopify store
How publication works (real scheduling)β
Shopify articles use real scheduling. When you publish a blog epic to a Shopify blog:
- Glowtify uploads the article body and summary to Shopify
- Creates the article with your metadata (title, author, tags, SEO fields) and
publishDate - Shopify handles the publish at the scheduled time
After handoff, the article lives on your Shopify blog. Edits made directly in Shopify don't sync back to Glowtify.
Blog selectionβ
When you create a blog epic targeting Shopify, Glowtify pulls the list of blogs in your Shopify admin. Pick which blog the article belongs to.
Authorsβ
Glowtify pulls your Shopify article authors so you can attribute the article to a specific person. If your Shopify has only one author, it's auto-selected.
Tags and metadataβ
- Tags β synced from your existing Shopify blog tags; you can also add new ones
- SEO title / description β exposed as standard fields, go into Shopify's meta fields
- Handle (URL slug) β editable before publish
Common issuesβ
"Blog not found"β
The blog you selected was deleted in Shopify, or the store's blog list changed. Refresh the connector or pick another blog.
"Image upload failed"β
Shopify has a size/format limit on article images. Resize, convert to JPG/PNG, and retry.
"Author not recognized"β
The author name doesn't match any author in Shopify. Either pick from the existing list, or create the author in Shopify admin first.
Disconnectingβ
Disconnecting the Shopify connector disables both data sync and article publishing. Already-scheduled articles stay on Shopify and will publish as planned.
