TikTok

The TikTok connector lets Glowtify publish videos to a TikTok Business account and retrieve engagement data.

Prerequisites​

  • A TikTok Business account (free to create, distinct from a personal TikTok)
  • TikTok Business accounts have access to the TikTok Marketing API, which is what Glowtify uses

Personal TikTok accounts are not supported.

Connecting TikTok​

  1. On the Connectors page, click Connect TikTok
  2. Log in with your TikTok Business account
  3. Authorize the requested permissions
  4. Glowtify pulls your TikTok account info and confirms the connection

Permissions requested​

  • Upload and publish videos on your TikTok account
  • Read analytics on your videos (views, engagement, watch time)

How publication works (soft scheduling)​

TikTok uses soft scheduling. Glowtify stores the video + caption, pushes to TikTok at the scheduled time.

Format specifics​

  • Video only — no static image posts
  • Vertical 9:16 strongly recommended
  • Duration: 3 seconds to 10 minutes (check your account eligibility for longer videos)
  • Caption up to ~2 200 characters
  • Hashtags included in caption, drive discovery
  • Sound required (silent videos underperform drastically)

Token expiration​

TikTok access tokens are short-lived; Glowtify refreshes automatically using the refresh token. When the refresh token expires (typically every few months), the connector card prompts a reconnect.

Common issues​

"Account session invalid"​

Reconnect the TikTok connector — the refresh token expired.

"Video format rejected"​

TikTok rejects non-supported codecs or aspect ratios. Re-encode as MP4, H.264, 9:16 before retry.

"Account not eligible to publish via API"​

Your TikTok account isn't set to Business, or hasn't agreed to TikTok's Content Posting API terms. Switch to Business in the TikTok app and accept the terms.

Disconnecting​

From the TikTok connector card → menu → Disconnect. Past posts remain on TikTok.
