Meta (Facebook + Instagram)

The Meta connector powers publishing to Facebook Pages, Instagram accounts, Facebook Stories, Instagram Stories, and Facebook Ads. One connector, multiple destinations — all driven by the same Meta OAuth session.

Prerequisites

  • A Facebook Business account linked to your Meta account
  • Admin access to the Facebook Page(s) you want to publish on
  • Professional Instagram account (Creator or Business) linked to a Facebook Page
  • For ads: access to a Meta Ad Account with billing configured

If your Instagram is still a Personal account, convert it to Professional in the Instagram app first — Glowtify cannot publish to Personal accounts.

Connecting Meta

  1. On the Connectors page, click Connect Meta
  2. You're redirected to Facebook's login
  3. Approve the permissions Glowtify requests
  4. You come back to Glowtify and pick the Facebook Pages + Instagram accounts to enable
  5. Optionally pick your Meta Ad Account for Facebook Ads

Permissions requested

Glowtify requests the minimum scope needed:

  • Publish to selected Pages
  • Read insights for each enabled Page / Instagram account
  • Manage business assets you admin

You can review these in your Facebook Business Settings at any time.

Selecting pages and accounts

After OAuth, the page selector shows all Facebook Pages you admin. Tick the ones you want Glowtify to publish on. If your Instagram is linked to one of those Pages, it's auto-selected.

You can change this selection later from the Meta connector card — Manage pages.

How publication works (soft scheduling)

Meta uses soft scheduling. Glowtify stores the scheduled content in its own database and pushes to Meta's API at the scheduled time.

Destinations:

  • metaPost — feed posts on Facebook, Instagram, or both
  • metaStory — stories on Facebook, Instagram, or both
  • facebookAds — ad creatives run through Facebook Ads

Token expiration

Meta tokens expire every ~60 days. Glowtify detects approaching expiration and shows a banner on the connector card + flags upcoming publications as "at risk".

To reconnect: open the Meta connector → click Reconnect → go through OAuth again. Your selected Pages and past publications are preserved.

Common issues

"Publication failed — invalid access token"

Your token expired. Reconnect.

"Publication failed — cannot publish on this Instagram account"

Your Instagram is not set to Professional, or you no longer admin the linked Facebook Page. Fix on the Meta side, then reconnect.

"Publication failed — media rejected"

The image or video didn't meet Meta's format requirements. Common issues: aspect ratio, file size, duration (for video). See Content channels for the specs.

"Publication failed — policy violation"

Meta's content moderation flagged something. Edit the content (often the wording) and retry. Repeated violations can lead to page-level restrictions on Meta — handle those in Meta Business Settings.

Disconnecting

From the Meta connector card, click the menu → Disconnect. This stops Glowtify from publishing to Meta on your behalf. Past published content stays on Meta — only future scheduled content that hasn't been pushed yet is affected.
