Edit a product SEO / GEO
Product SEO / GEO epics optimize the metadata and structured content of a Shopify product so it ranks better on search engines and gets cited more often by AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) when people ask questions in your category.
This is a different kind of epic — no social caption, no visual creation. The output is a series of updates pushed to Shopify: a better meta title, a stronger meta description, richer alt texts, tighter structured copy.
See Edit an Epic for the generic layout, brief, tasks, and chat flow common to every content type.
When to use it
- A product has low organic traffic from Google even though it's a strong seller
- A product has a generic or truncated meta title ("Product Name — Store")
- A product description reads like a features list instead of a story
- You're appearing for your own brand searches but not category searches
- Dashboard flags a Product SEO - GEO priority for one of your products
What gets optimized
- Meta title — the clickable title in search results
- Meta description — the snippet under the title
- Product title (optional) — if the current one is weak
- Product description — main body, restructured for scannability and keyword coverage
- Image alt texts — SEO + accessibility
- URL handle / slug — only if it's clearly bad
Glowtify never overwrites your existing copy silently. Every change is proposed, you review and approve, and only then is it pushed to Shopify.
The brief
Unlike a social post, the brief for a product SEO / GEO epic is mostly automatic. Glowtify pulls from:
- The product itself in Shopify (title, current description, price, tags, collection)
- Your Business DNA (tone of voice, key messaging)
- Your SEO / GEO intelligence — target keywords, competitor positioning, prompts where AI assistants mention competitors but not you
You can add specific angles to the brief — e.g., "emphasize sustainability", "target the Quebec market", "highlight the size-inclusive fit".
Generation and review
Glowtify proposes updates as a diff — current value vs proposed value — for each field. Review each one individually:
- Approve → change goes to the "ready to push" pile
- Edit → adjust manually before approving
- Regenerate → ask for another take
- Reject → keep the current value
Publishing to Shopify (real scheduling)
When all approved changes are ready, click Publish to Shopify. Glowtify pushes the updates to your Shopify product. The changes are live on your site immediately — there's no scheduled delay for this type of content (no reason to schedule an SEO update).
Important: the changes are pushed directly to your Shopify admin. You can always roll back in Shopify if you change your mind.
GEO considerations
Classic SEO rewards clear keyword targeting, good H1/H2 structure, and strong meta. GEO rewards similar things but also:
- Well-structured Q&A content — AI models love content that directly answers questions
- Explicit mention of who the product is for — helps AI match the product to user intents
- Comparison-ready language — subtle contrasts with category alternatives help AI cite you when asked "what's the best X for Y"
Glowtify's suggestions factor both sides automatically. The resulting copy is good for Google and for AI citations.
Tracking impact
After pushing, give it a couple of weeks for search engines to re-index. Track:
- Google Analytics — organic traffic on the product URL
- GEO monitoring — whether AI visibility improves on relevant prompts (GEO monitoring)
- Shopify analytics — conversion rate from the product page
